No Meeting This Week Dunwoody Rotarians are Sandestin-Bound!There's no meeting this Friday, as about 15 members of our Dunwoody Family of Rotary head to Sandestin for a District 6900 celebration! Watch for more about our " fun in the sun" in next week's bulletin. And don't forget to mark your calendar and join us for Thirsty Thursday next week - August 18 - at Dunwoody Tavern! Our Tribute to Bill Mulkey
It's not to late to make a contribution to the Dunwoody Charitable Fund for The Rotary Foundation - or to send in written tribute to Bill Mulkey to be included in the book we're creating for Beverly Mulkey and their daughters. Contact Jennie Stipick for more information. Here's a picture Past President and Honorary Member Lang Wooddy submitted of Bill, Beverly and Lang at District Conference on Jekyll Island in 1991. Seemed appropriate to share as many of us head to Sandestin for a District Celebration 30 years later. Our Charitable Contributions Speaker Gifts Going to Malachi's
Each year, Dunwoody Presidents select a charity to receive a donation on behalf of our speakers for the year. This Rotary year, Malachi's Storehouse will benefit from that donation. Malachi's has been dedicated to addressing food insecurity in Metro Atlanta for about the last 20 years. Today it provides groceries and meals to needy families and children. You may remember that we donated unused weekly meal money to Malachi's early in the pandemic, and that we participated in a "farms to families" food distribution that brought4,800 pounds of Grade-A foodstuffs to Malachi's in May. With our speaker honorariums, we continue to make a difference in the lives of local families.
