No Meeting This Friday We've Reserved the Weekend for Our July 4 ActivitiesWe don't want to see you at Rotary this Friday! Instead, join us for Float Decorating this Saturday, or at the Dunwoody Independence Day events on Tuesday! Read on for more info. And, as a quick heads up (more to follow in next week's bulletin), we will be meeting at the AC Hotel next Friday, July 7 instead of LeMeridien! Service and Fellowship It's A Float Decorating Party!!!
Join us this Saturday morning - July 1 - at President Jack's house for Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and small bites as we bring back the art of fellowship and float decorating! There are stories told of years gone by when Past President Hardy Croom, then manager of the Dunwoody Country Club, would invite the Dunwoody Family of Rotary out to the country club for an afternoon of float decorating fun! We've included some pictures here from later float decorating parties. What you need to know? - Party starts at 10 a.m. Saturday morning
- Set your maps to 1889 Leiden Ct, Dunwoody,
GA 30338.
- Jack's cell is 404.414.8338 in case anyone needs to get hold of him on the day of the event.
In the Community The Party Continues ... Celebrate Independence Day and a New Rotary Year with Dunwoody Rotary
The Dunwoody Family of Rotary has always been part of Dunwoody's Fourth of July Extravaganza - a tradition of more than 30 years! Most club members and their families have joined us on the parade route, as helpers in our hot dog stand at Dunwoody Village, or just to say hi and buy a hot dog, some baked goods, a soda. We'd love to keep that tradition going. Here are three ways to get involved: - Share your baking skills: We plan to sell individually wrapped baked goods at the hot dog stand - bring your best brownies, cookies, etc. Contact Kobelah or Ed Holliday with questions on this.
- Walk with President Jack in the parade: Arrival times start at
7:30, parade starts at 9:00. There is no parking on site but parking is
available in the Kroger (Jett Ferry) parking lot. Sunscreen is
recommended. Water will be provided. Thanks to Alison and Jennie for leading the float and marchers!
- Volunteer for the hot dog stand in front of Walgreen's in Dunwoody Village: Plan to arrive between 9:30 and 10 am; we should be finished between 12 noon and 1 pm. Thanks to Kobelah and Ed for managing the hot dog booth.
