No Meeting This Friday
Join Us for Thirsty Thursday at Culinary Dropout!

There is no regular Friday meeting for Dunwoody this week - some of us will be heading off to District Conference at Lake Lanier. For everyone else, there's still Thirsty Thursday! We're back at Culinary Dropout, 1231 Ashford Crossing, Building 900, Dunwoody GA. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm.

We'll be back together next Friday - April 24 - to share news from District Conference and hear from Rebekah Lignugaris, owner of Organized for Health.

What Is Rotary?

A talented member of the District 6900 leadership team put together a 2-minute video to explain What is Rotary? Don't let the photo fool you. Turn up the volume and enjoy!

Golf Tournament Update
One Month and Counting ... The Importance of Golfers

Many of us just finished watching the Masters in Augusta - great golfers, great scenery. And now that it's over, we are about a month away from our own golf tournament fundraiser. Thank you to all of YOU for helping to make this all work. The membership IS the reason for our past success and that is true going forward on May 18 at St. Marlo Country Club.

One of the other key elements of our event is GOLFERS - sounds obvious, right.

  • We aim at 90 to 100 golfers so if your sponsorship includes golfers, make sure we get them signed up even if you don’t plan on playing by notifying Rick Woods at sdoowrm@gmail.com. Names and handicaps are needed along with email contact information for event day gate entry and post event thanks communications.
  • Golfers buy ditty bags, donate at the Long Drive hole with Kyle Blakely and bid on auction items! We need them!!
  • We will fill some foursomes with Dan Phillips and his team from Do What You Love to End ALZ, Chief Carlson and the Dunwoody Police team and anyone that might become a future RCD member or sponsor!

Some other important information:

  • You can pay Carter for your level of participation via check or on the tournament website. All levels of sponsorship and donations continue to come in!
  • Be sure to check out the website that Hoshi continuously updates at www.rcdgolftournament.com.

Calling All Volunteers
Dunwoody Arts Festival - May 8-10

Calling all volunteers to help transform Dunwoody Village into a thriving artist market. The 16th annual Dunwoody Art Festival features artisans from across the country, a creative Kidz Zone, entertainment and tasty festival food. Mark your calendar now. Be part of the team that will make this 2026 signature event a “best-ever” success.

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody has been part of the Festival since its inaugural year in 2010. In exchange for the amazing volunteer support by Dunwoody Rotarians and Atlanta Rotaract, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody receives a complimentary ($2,000+ value), well-located exhibit space ($2,000+ Value) at the festival. We utilize this exhibit as the center for the Rotary Club’s community outreach - a place where we have recruited new members and enlisted potential Rotary Youth Exchange host families and outbound students.

There are two ways to help:

  • Be a Festival volunteer: Welcome artists and help them set up on Friday (6-9 pm) and/or Saturday (6-9 am)
  • Be a Rotary Club of Dunwoody ambassador: Help share our story with the community. We will staff the booth from 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday; let us know when you might be able to help that happen.

You can register by completing a form on Friday, or contacting Russell Reams or Kathy Brandt. Please include name, cell phone #, requested shifts, and t-shirt size.

Thanks for Your Service
Honoring Our Military

Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's USO event at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport! We had some newcomers, including a prospective member to help us welcome active service personnel and veterans on their way through Atlanta that day!
