No Meeting Next Friday - August 13

Not because we're superstitious - but because several of us will be in SanDestin for Rotary District 6900's celebration weekend. We'll tell you all about it when we're back! And the following week is Thirsty Thursday, so there's no meeting that Friday - we hope you'll join us Thursday, August 19 at the Dunwoody Tavern.

Thanks for Your Service
Dunwoody Joins DeKalb Rotary Council to Collect Medical Equipment

Last Saturday, Dunwoody Rotarians joined with other clubs in the DeKalb Rotary Council to collect used medical equipment for Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). The day started with breakfast, then the group split into teams to pick up and organize equipment. Dunwoody has been involved with this event for several years. This project has collected about $1,000,000 worth of durable medical equipment from local residents and businesses in the metro Atlanta area; that equipment is then refurbished and redistributed to those in need. Thanks to Rick Woods for coordinating our effort - and to all of you who participated! Click more to see additional photos!

Charlie Augello Puts Our Scholarship Drawing Money to Good Purpose

Charlie Augello won more than $700 in last Friday's scholarship drawing. That's good news for everyone in the Club. Why? Two reasons:

  • Charlie said he plans to put the money to good use for those we serve at the USO
  • That means our Laws of Life Scholarship Fund received an equal amount ... this annual essay contest helps to encourage our high school students to think about what they've learned in various life experiences about the importance of good character and giving back. Learn more about Laws of Life and ask George Stewart about how you can help.

And remember, the pot starts over again this Friday!
