Dunwoody Starts the Year Out in Style!
The Rotary Club of Dunwoody celebrated the Rotary "New Year" and 249th anniversary of our country by stepping out at the annual Dunwoody Fourth of July celebration. Thanks to everyone who helped decorate the float, marched in the parade, baked cookies and worked in our sell-out hot dog booth. We took 2nd place for our float - and everyone had an amazing time! Special thanks to Alison Norris and Jennie Stipick for a great float, to Louise Barden for organizing marchers, and to Jay Brackman for heading our hot dog booth
Getting to Know You
Carter Stout: Past President, Reader, Dedicated Rotarian

Carter Stout has been a vibrant and influential member since joining our Rotary Club in March 2011. Known for his innovative ideas and deep commitment to community. He initially discovered Rotary when he stumbled upon a lively meeting at the Ravinia Club, a serendipitous encounter that led to an introduction from George Stewart and a realization that Rotary ran in his family, with his father also being a member.
One of Carter's most cherished Rotary memories revolves around the GRSP weekend. About two decades ago, tasked with hosting two students for a family dinner, he found himself alone with his young son when his wife and daughter were out of town. He invited a few other GRSP participants, and much to his surprise, 30 people showed up! This spontaneous gathering evolved, with Carter hosting for several years before the "big party" moved to Jennie Stipick's house. These evenings were filled with music, singing, and memorable interactions, creating lasting bonds with the students. And Carter's commitment to GRSP continues; he currently serves as a GRSP Trustee.
