Governor Ball

Cutoff for 2019 Governors Ball RSVP

The cutoff date to RSVP for the 2019 Governors Ball is just 10 days away. If you don't RSVP before 03/08/19, there will not be a place set for you and/or your guests.

The number of meals ordered will be fixed on 03/08/19. We need to begin laying out the number of tables needed for dining, and to do that we need all RSVPs as soon as possible. If you know you are coming, please follow this link today to RSVP on-line.

https://rcdgovernorsball.com/rsvp

It only takes a moment, and will assist your fellow Rotarians in planning a successful event.

My thanks,

Rick Otness

2019 Governors Ball preparation

4 things to do...

The Governors Ball is the end of next week (03/16/19). It is imperative that each of you do the following:

1.Go to https://dunwoodyrotary.org/v2/reservation/create?event=3914 to complete your RSVP.

2.Secure an item from a favorite vendor for the silent donation. The donation form can be found at the bottom of the page once you click on this link https://rcdgovernorsball.com/fund-raising

3.Remember to bring an inexpensive bottle of wine this Friday (03/08/19) for the "ring toss" at the 2019 GB

4.Buy at least 1 raffle ticket at https://rotary6900.org/v2/lottery/purchase/2

Thanks,

Rick Otness

Immediate Past President

by Superintendent Fred Bounds
Spruceapalooza at Monroe Park a Huge Success

Eight Spruceniks, (Warren Turner, Past Presidents Jennie Stipick, Tina Philpot, and Rick Otness, plus Erich Schuetz, Bob O’Brien, Jim Riticher, and your Humble Correspondent) convened at Monroe Park (also recently known as Bounds Gardens) last Saturday for a major planting project: 40 (yes, 40) Purple Pixie Dwarf Loropetalums around the perimeter of the park.

The day began at 7:30 a.m. for Warren and Fred. They deployed the 40 containers around the perimeter and marked their locations with spray paint. The rest of the crew reported at 9:00 a.m., and with little fanfare and zero idleness, dug the holes, placed the plants, added dirt mixed with peat moss, and scooped up little berms around the holes to properly direct the water downward to the roots. Besides Jennie’s hard work, her arrival with a box of Da Vinci donuts made her a favorite of the work crew.

Our timing on this project couldn’t have been better, beautiful weather on Saturday, and generous spring rains on Sunday.
