This Week's Speaker
Francesca, Our 2019-2020 Rotary Youth Exchange Student

My name is Francesca Brunetti. I was born in Fabriano, a small town near Ancona, my actual city, on December 6, 2002.

My city is in the middle of Italy and close to the ocean and it’s the main one in my region: Le Marche. My home is in a very small town near Ancona called Agugliano. It has just 4000 inhabitants but our gelato is the best one in Italy!

There I attend a scientific high school and I really like it because my favourite subjects are Math and Physics.

In my family we are five: my mom Catia and my dad Luca, my older sister Chiara and my little sister Beatrice. Last year Chiara went on exchange in Canada through Rotary. She was the one who introduced me in this program. Last year we hosted two girls: Francis, from Canada, and Josie, from Taiwan. It is also because of them if I’m here now as they showed me all the beauty of this program. [more]

Continuing the Italian Theme ...
Enjoy Pizza to Help Police

Charlie Augello's E. 48th Street Market invites patrons to enjoy one of the Market’s crowd-pleasing specialties while helping to support the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our businesses and residences safe.

For the month of October, the E. 48th Street Market will donate, to the Dunwoody Police Foundation, Inc., $3.00 from each Market’s Special “Momma’s Pizza” sold. The Market’s unique 16” square “Momma’s Pizza” is available in Cheese, Veggie and White options. Choose to add your favorite toppings, including pepperoni, hot peppers, meatball, veggie and more. Eat – IN or take out. Call your order in advance. Your pizza will be ready in less than 20 minutes.

Charlie says, “We salute the excellence in policing that we enjoy in the City of Dunwoody, and by joining with our patrons in support of the Dunwoody Police Foundation, we can play a small part in supporting continued excellence in public safety as a defining characteristic of the Dunwoody Community. This is an opportunity to express our appreciation to those who serve our community with distinction.”

The E. 48th Street Market, located at 2462 Jett Ferry Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338, is recognized as the premier location in the Atlanta area for Italian Specialty Foods. For more than 30 years E. 48th Street Market has been a haven for those that seek out Italian special foods and love to cook. For information go to www.e48thstreetmarket.com.

The Dunwoody Police Foundation is an independent, non-partisan organization dedicated to improving policing by financially supporting the Dunwoody Police department and its personnel. To learn more or to donate go to www.dunwoodypolicefoundation.org or contact a board member at 678-249-9559 or info@dunwoodypolicefoundation@gmail.com.

Service Opportunity
Special Olympics Basketball Skills

For more than a decade Dunwoody Rotarians have helped Peachtree Charter Middle School host a Basketball Skills Clinic and Competition for 200+ students representing special needs programs in all DeKalb County middle schools. This year’s event will be hosted on October 25 by the faculty and staff of Sequoyah Middle School, 3456 Aztec Rd, Doraville, GA 30340.The same event, just a different location.
