This Week's Speaker
Felicia Voloschin, Rockin' Finance CEO

Passionate about education, Felicia has been conducting finance seminars since 2007. It all started when she was asked to give a presentation to her son’s kindergarten class for career week. Knowing that her calculator was no match against the doctor’s stethoscope or the contractor’s building tools, Felicia planned an elaborate, interactive presentation about “Kinder Parkway” where the 5-year olds were asked to share their dream jobs, drive to work, earn money and problem-solve real life financial scenarios. She made the complex and boring subjects introduced, fun and easy to grasp. It made a big impression on the 5-year olds, and an even bigger one on Felicia.

As news of the Kinder Parkway presentation spread, requests for presentations for all ages grew. By 2009 the groundwork was laid and Rockin’ Finance was born. Parents and teachers then asked if Felicia could de-mystify some of their financial problems with interactive seminars for adults. By integrating music, sports, fashion and games Felicia has found a way to reach all types of learners, breaking down the barriers for both kids and adults who used to say, “Finance is just not my thing.” In addition to our self-published children’s books, plans are well underway to roll-out a variety of interactive tools to make financial literacy possible for children and adults at every age. Our up-coming coordinated books, magazines, family board games, video games and online interactive audio/visual programs, truly strive to maximize the use of “edu-tainment,” the combination of innovative education combined with entertainment.

Felicia runs her own CPA and investment advisory firms, specializing in strategic personalized tax, and business planning, along with advisory services for individuals and small to mid-sized businesses across the United States. Originally from New York, Felicia obtained her BBA in Accounting and MS in Taxation. She is a Certified Financial Planner certified in long term care insurance as well as holds life insurance sales license in several states. She worked for large international accounting and financial firms before diving into her first entrepreneurial ventures in real estate investment, a limousine service and then launching her first series of live seminars that were recognized by the New York Times (1997).

Felicia currently lives in Atlanta, GA with her two children Arie and Datya and significant other Doug.

We Need Your Help Now!
Whiskey Tasting: Half the Seats Are Still Open! Help Us Sell Them!

Our annual Dunwoody Rotary Whiskey Tasting is Thursday, November 19, at the Spalding Lake Clubhouse, and we still have more than half our tickets left.

You don’t need to know a thing about whiskey to help. Here are three easy ways:

  • Share the link with anyone who enjoys whiskey or cocktails
  • Share the link with anyone who knows anyone who enjoys whiskey
  • Share the link on Facebook, LinkedIn, your neighborhood group or other places

Let them all know they simply must take a look at our website and the whiskey on offer! http://www.spiriteddunwoody.com

The website has the full whiskey lineup and ticket details. Just get people there, and the whiskey will do the rest!

Join Brookhaven Rotary to Hear from State Senator Sally Harrell

TThe Rotary Club of Brookhaven is inviting interested Dunwoody Rotarians to their meeting TONIGHT at 6 pm - when they welcome Senator Harrell at Oglethorpe University's Hearst Hall. Senator Harrell represents Brookhaven, Chamblee, Dunwoody, Doraville and Peachtree Corners in the Georgia State Senate. As she runs for re-election, she'll share her priorities for our area and the state.

Let Brookhaven know at rotarybrookhaven@gmail.com if you'll be joining the meeting.

Service Opportunity
Are You Signed Up for the USO on October 28?

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody will be volunteering at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's USO next Wednesday, October 28, and we need your help! We will serve our service personnel and family members an “All American” lunch of hot dogs with all the condiments, potato chips, fresh fruit, snack bars, cookies, bottled water plus a portion of baked Ziti & Momma’s meatball. Read on for more about how you can help ... as an onsite volunteer, by donating cookies, or by donating water bottles or snacks.

Record Setting Crowd Invades Bounds Gardens (in a Good Way)!

From Ranger Fred ...

I know you, like me, have always wondered how many Sprucetarians can simultaneously fit in the prettiest .005 acre park in Dunwoody. While we're still not sure, it's at least FIFTEEN! You read that right ... 3X5, 6+9, 5+10.  More that EVER! A Club Record.

How long did it take the intrepid Sprucetarians to work their magic? THIRTY MINUTES. A Club Record.

For the Dunwoody book of world records, the names should include Bob O'Brien, Tina Philpot, Dakve Burr, Mark and Stephanie Galvin, Rick Otness, Jason Creech, Alison Norris, Fred Bounds, Amy and Neal MacDonald, Steve Dolinger, Jennifer Shumway, Jay Brackman and Mitzi Nietzsche, Amy's mom visiting from Peoria.

We have more fun than the law allows. You can too. Get off the sidelines and join us January 16, 2027.

Oh, and if you didn't know, Bounds Gardens is the unassuming traffic island across from the Dunwoody library. Direct flights to the park are available from anywhere - and the only tickets you need is a garden tool and a pair of gloves.

And from our president Dave ... Thanks to Ranger Fred (Bounds) for organizing our work parties and to all who come out to support this work.
