Whiskey Fundraiser Update Whiskey List is Closed… Now: Get Tickets!! Tell a Friend!!
We’ve had a great turnout and a great whiskey lineup. We have high-end scotch representing every region of Scotland. We have the most iconic Irish distilleries represented. We have the most historic bourbon distilleries from Kentucky representing their best products. We have every traditional style of rye whiskey. And we have the award winners from 2026 all lined up. Over $2,500 in whiskey ready for the tasting at $100 per ticket… tell everyone and direct them to www. Spiriteddunwoody.com! Tickets will be limited to 50 total and will likely sell fast. For those who can’t attend the tasting on November 19, we will still be raffling off a bottle of that most sought after bourbon: the Pappy Van Winkle 15r bourbon. Tell everyone! This is an incredible donation for our raffle and will excite anyone with a passing interest in bourbon. Those tickets are also available at www. Spiriteddunwoody.com |
Sprucetarian Alert Bounds Gardens is Coming Up ... October 17
One of our club’s most visible contributions to the Dunwoody community is the beautiful traffic island across from the Dunwoody Library. This cherished spot is affectionately known as "Bounds Garden," named in honor of our dedicated member, Fred Bounds. For many years, Fred has tirelessly led the maintenance of this green space, ensuring it remains a point of pride for our neighborhood. Our next opportunity to spruce up the garden is a week from Saturday - on October 17. As always, we keep things efficient and fun. We will start promptly at 9:00 AM and aim to be finished by 10:00 AM. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, engage in light physical work, and share in the wonderful camaraderie that defines our club. As the saying goes, "many hands make light work"—the more volunteers we have, the quicker we can restore the garden to its full glory. Let’s start 2026 on a high note by giving back to the community we love. We encourage you to bring along a friend or a prospective member to show them the Rotary spirit in action. Think of adding yourself to this photo of Fred at the garden following our successful cleanup last October. We look forward to seeing everyone there! |
Service Opportunity Save the Date: October 28 at USO The Rotary Club of Dunwoody will be volunteering at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's USO on Wednesday, October 28, and we need your help! We will serve our service personnel and family members an “All American” lunch of hot dogs with all the condiments, potato chips, fresh fruit, snack bars, cookies, bottled water plus a portion of baked Ziti & Momma’s meatball.
Volunteer in person: We would like to have eight volunteers for the day from 9 AM to 3 PM. You can also participate for a short shift of 9 AM to 12 noon or 12 noon to 3 PM. Duties vary from greeter, hot dog grill mate, server, cookie bagger, bag monitor among other to do items that need to be done to serve our military service personnel. It is strongly recommended that volunteers take MARTA to the airport instead of driving due to the continued limited parking due to the construction at the airport. Donate cookies: we want the best for our military personnel but starting this year USO new regulations prohibit ANY HOME-made food items to be served. We ask to please donate cookies that are commercially made. Box of cookies can be dropped off to the E.48th Street Market on 10/26 and 27, 2026 before 6PM. We will repack them on the day of service. Unable to volunteer: Members who are unable to volunteer can participate by donating bottled water (small bottles) and snack bars such as Nature Valley available at Costco at reasonable prices. Items can be dropped off at the E.48th Street Market on 10/26 and 27 before 6PM Please contact Charlie Augello at Italian@e48stmarket.com if you would like to be a volunteer or be a cookie donor. A shout out to our new members please consider volunteering at the USO, it is one of the most satisfying and rewarding day of service. |
Help Us Find a Place for a Peace Pole Throughout Rotary, clubs have been planting peace poles to signify our commitment to working for peace in the world. Pictured here is the pole planted at the Martin Luther King center as part of a Rotary International President's visit. Here in Dunwoody, we're ready to plant a pole and are looking for your help to identify just the right place. Do you have connections with a Dunwoody business, church, school or other location that might want to include the peace pole in their landscape. If you have ideas, please contact Louise Barden.

Service Opportunity Help Make Someone's Holidays Brighter with Toys for Tots! It's time to start shopping for our annual Toys for Tots collection - toys and such are out at Costco and other retail places! For many years, under the leadership of Jim and Janet Glass, Dunwoody Rotarians have been very generous in the Marines Toys for Tots Drive.
Look for toys, bikes and games and bring them to the Holiday luncheon on December 11! If you have a van and can help with transporting the toys after the luncheon, please let Jim Glass know. With your generosity, we can make this holiday season special for needy local youth! |
Thanks for Your Service Here's to Our Bagel Rescue Efforts!
Last Saturday, several Dunwoody Rotarians and friends gathered in Anchor Place's space at St. Patrick's to support the efforts of Bagel Rescue. We packed about 4,500 bagels in bags of 5-6 bagels each to be distributed to shelters and food pantries around our community. Some of those bagels went straight down the hall to Malacchi's Storehouse at St. Patrick's. Thanks to all who participated, and to Anchor Place and St. Patrick's for letting us use the Anchor Place space. Watch for future opportunities to work with Bagel Rescue. |
