Getting to Know You
Jackie Cuthbert: Communicator, GRSP Host Mom and Anchor Place Volunteer

Jackie Cuthbert’s Rotary journey began in the 1980s in the Bay Area of California, where she met her husband, Scott, on a blind date. Scott was an active Rotarian, and together they attended the 1991 Rotary International Convention in Mexico City where they celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

After that convention, Jackie knew she wanted to join Rotary herself but it took a move to Atlanta in 1994 to get there. While attending a district conference where Scott organized the House of Friendship, she spoke about her aspirations with Milton Baker, one of our club's original members, who strongly encouraged her to join the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. Jackie was inducted in March 1998 and went on to serve as Club President during the 2005–2006 Rotary year.

Over the years, Jackie has poured her heart into numerous initiatives, including international service projects, the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP), district and club newsletter creation, and now Anchor Place Respite Care. Among her favorite Rotary activities, GRSP holds a special place. She loves connecting with the students and believes deeply in the idea of "planting trees you’ll never sit under." By fostering global peace and understanding today, these young leaders return home empowered to do good wherever they are in the world.

Jackie also treasures her volunteer work with Anchor Place, bringing joy to members and families, as well as the club’s past international projects—such as the impactful trips to Costa Rica where nine Dunwoody Rotarians helped deliver 200 wheelchairs, paving the way for three return trips. Looking to the future, Jackie hopes to see our club engage in even more hands-on service, encouraging us all to "think big and then figure out how to do it."
